Hi Darren, thanks for your comment. Yes with the help of a VPN you can access US Netflix library. You can choose from anyone one of the top two providers listed in the table above. Both are working fine for accessing content on US Netflix.
Once you have subscribed to a VPN service, I would suggest that you can download their app from Google Play Store. This way you don’t have to do any (manual) additional settings on your Note 5. Once you are connected to the US server, access Netflix app from your Note 5 and you should be able to view the US library.

Hi Darren, usually we recommend that you get a VPN account first and then subscribe to Netflix USA. Do note that you might have create a new account for this approach to work and don’t use your old Netflix (Malaysia) account.
If you do decide to use your old Netflix (Malaysia) account, I believe they might already have your details such as country of origin. There is a slight chance that you might face the same error that you were facing before.
If this does happens, I would suggest that you contact PureVPN live chat support, they will be able to assist you more appropriately. Hi Kam! Thanks for your query, I’ll try my best to help you out. You can either get a VPN first and then Netflix or the other way around, both would work. However, if you want to access US Netflix library, I would suggest to get a VPN first and then subscribe to Netflix (via US webpage).
Once you have signed up for the services, now comes the tricky bit. For you to watch Netflix on your Sharp smart TV, you would either have to setup a VPN on your wireless router (if you have one) or share your internet connection with your smart TV. This is because smart TV’s don’t allow you to setup a VPN directly onto them. Hi Aazim, managed to settle the VPN and accessed and registered NetFlix USA, but having problem to search for the Netflix App to launch in my TV. I browsed on Google, but no Netflix App applicable. Hi Kam, I am glad that you managed through all the tricky stages. As for not finding Netflix app on Sharp Aquos Android TV, I did some digging and found other Sharp Android TV users also complaining the same issue. Here are some basic steps you can follow (if you haven’t tried them already):
• Try opening Netflix from your browser instead from an app.
• Check the ‘Pre-Installed App’ section on your Sharp Android TV. Some Sharp Android TV users reported that the Netflix app was found under this section.
• Connect to a VPN (USA Server) and then access Google Play Store to find the Netflix app.
If these don’t work, then try changing the Google DNS settings to US based DNS. This might sound tricky but you can get the information and all the steps (tutorials) from the respective VPN provider.
And, if this doesn’t solves the problem then you might have update your smart TV’s firmware, although I would advise you to contact Sharp technical support first.

Alternatively, one solution to this Netflix VPN blockage is to get a dedicated (static) IP of US from a VPN provider. This minimizes any chances of Netflix blocking your IP address & restricting you from access US Netflix.
