MMA-fans from around the world, brace yourself as we go punching-n-kickin’, waiting for the UFC 229 to begin! If you haven’t already heard, for the very first round, you’ll be seeing the proud Irish badass with a big mouth, Conor McGregor go head-to-head and fist-to-fist with the more-talk-than-show Russian mixed martial artist of Avar descent, Khabib Nurmagomedov!
The excitement for the event is at an all-time high with many already placing their bets on who’s going to own which round, and which fighter will emerge victorious upon facing each other in the UFC 229 fighting ring at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas Valley, United States. Now, we already know that it’s been nearly two years since the Irish star last set foot inside the Octagon, but will he be able to keep up?
These are questions we will only get answers to in the early hours of Sunday morning, but many are excited to see if big-mouth McGregor will actually be able to win back his old title, stripped away from him due to inactivity, which Khabib won by beating Al Laquinta. Bear in mind that the Russian now has a winning record of 26 fights, and he’s just hungry to go ape-shit on his next opponent, especially McGregor!
When is the Weigh-In for McGregor vs Khabib?
The fight at Sunday will be Khabib’s first defence for the title and you’ll get to see both him and McGregor at the weigh-ins tomorrow, which just like the official UFC fight on Sunday will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. So far, we have learned that Nurmagomedov is struggling a little with his weight, and needs to lose around 11lbs to reach the ideal weight at 155lbs. You can watch the weigh-ins for the UFC 229 tomorrow morning at 1 am BST (5 pm PT).

McGregor vs Khabib: Latest News
This may come off as a surprise, but McGregor actually didn’t want to do any major promotions for his fight against the Russian-beast, Khabib. Considering how he usually goes all-out during press conferences and weigh-ins, it’s kind of a new (mature) change, but we are honestly a little disappointed since that’s what all us viewers get excited about the match for: the hype and havoc before going fist-to-fist!
According to the UFC pundit Joe Rogan, McGregor seems to be more involved in just training for his fight against Khabib, which means he might just think that he’s at a slight disadvantage (considering Khabib is a powerful grappler that tires his opponents out real quick). However, UFC has a model of promoting the holy shit out of a fight to make it sell like crazy, so while we may not see the Irish spirit in full, we will still get to see McGregor and Khabib standing face-to-face for their weigh-ins tomorrow at the T-Mobile arena.
