For the latest in the VPN industry, NordVPN has just managed to earn the first ever Oakla Speedtest Recommended Badge, further verifying their promise to providing exceptional performance for streaming and P2P/Torrenting. For those of you who do not know, Oakla is the creator of the famous Speedtest website (launched back in 2006). It is a global leader in internet speed testing and analysis!
Don’t forget to read our NordVPN Review
Ever since its inception to recent times, the website states that they have completed more than 21 billion tests, providing transparency into the performance of local ISPs/proxy services/VPN providers from all over the world. They even have apps available for download on Apple TV, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. As such, users can feel relieved that Oakla is indeed a credible source!
In fact, it exists as one of the most popular tools for conducting internet speed tests/analysis in the marketplace. Therefore, NordVPN getting awarded the very FIRST recommendation badge from Oakla is quite a big deal, which ultimately proves how famous the Panama-based provider is getting, despite some allegations claiming they are not a secure service.
However, since so far there has been no news of NordVPN ever revealing information to any Government agency, users can feel assured this is all a marketing gimmick from competitors to put down the service. For now, if there is one thing to be sure of, it would be that NordVPN is a great choice for receiving good speeds online. Since we have tested the provider ourselves, we have an idea about its performance.
You can easily unblock Netflix and stream the entire US library without any buffering issues with the VPN service. Regardless of its capability, being the first VPN to get a badge from Oakla definitely positions NordVPN at a greater height than others. In light of this, the provider has recently launched a special VPN deal, which gives you access to the VPN for only $2.99 per month. This totals to $107.6 for 36-months.
The Press Officer at NordVPN, Laura Tyrell said, “We’re honored to receive the Speedtest Recommended badge from Ookla. This badge proves our continued effort to provide a cost-effective, well thought-out and fast VPN service. Over the years, NordVPN has become a leading online security solution with more than 8 million users worldwide.”
While all of this sounds quite amazing, as a VPN reviewing website, we do wish Oakla revealed more details as to why NordVPN was awarded the badge i.e. what was the summary of the tests conducted and if any comparisons were made with other providers. BestVPN.co does not believe in trusting but verifying all information, so we have contacted Oakla for comment and are awaiting their response.
Till we get an official reply, we did decide to check out Oakla and its many blogs about the Best VPNs and Fast VPNs. If you check the links out, you’ll learn that NordVPN enjoys a prominent leader position in the Best VPN guide, but for the fastest VPN ranks third – showing a -5.1% speed impact. According to Oakla, IPVanish and TorGuard offer better performance, receiving a -4.3% and -3.7% rating respectively.
As such, if the site itself claims that TorGuard and IPVanish are faster, it is imperative to learn how and why NordVPN earned the Speedtest Recommended Badge from Oakla first. Nevertheless, it is a proud moment for the provider, and they should definitely celebrate the moment. For more updates on the news, keep following this blog. Thanks for reading guys. Have a nice day!
